Meet Jen

I am a former secondary school teacher with over 25 years of experience educating and empowering children, adolescents, and their families.  I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP), specializing in family and couple dynamics.

 

Who do I work with?

Couples

Helping distressed couples with ineffective communication styles combined with sexual desire discrepancy achieve renewed intimacy by talking openly about sex at their comfort level and providing tools and exercises to help develop new and more effective communication patterns and sexual intimacy.

 

Supporting couples/singles who identify with alternative relationships and sexual lifestyles, including roleplaying, BDSM, D/S, kink, ethical non-monogamy (ENM), open relationships, swinging, polyamory, pansexuality, and asexuality.


I am a therapist who has personal and professional experience using Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, to concentrate on finding solutions in the present and exploring hopes for the future.

 

Adolescents
Explaining the concept of consent to therapy and confidentiality to adolescents in order to establish a trust based therapeutic relationship to alleviate anxiety and allow them to be open and honest without fear of rejection by providing a sense of safety and allowing ownership of their feelings.

 

Adults
Helping distressed couples and individuals with ineffective communication styles combined with sexual disconnection achieve renewed intimacy through talking openly about sex at their comfort level and providing tools and exercises to help develop new and more effective communication patterns.

 

2SLGBTQIA+ Community
Helping distressed 2SLGBTQIA+ couples with daily stress and ineffective communication styles achieve solutions and strategies to improve communication so they can act as a team again by using tools tailored specifically for their situation.

 

Sex Workers
Helping stigmatized sex workers who may desire therapy but have not felt comfortable speaking to a therapist about their work or anything else about their lives for fear of judgment be open about their experiences and feel they are able to develop a positive therapeutic relationship.

 

All Gender Identities
Providing a safe space for honest discussion where individuals can share their feelings, concerns, and worries about their lives with acceptance and understanding with an empathic therapist. Every person is a unique individual who deserves to be able to tell their story without fear of rejection.
